CATEGORY 4
Judges Card The NASMA judge holds a current judges card with more than one registered breed association other than NASMA.

Judges Evaluation Forms The NASMA judge has judged within the past show year and any Judges Evaluation Forms sent in contain a score of 5 or above in all applicable catergories. The comments made on the forms are WITHOUT negative feedback concerning the ethical conduct of the judge and valid concerns, with specific examples listed, where placing mules/donkeys in classes when clear disqualifications was present. Scores 5 or above indicate the judge has current knowledge of the NASMA rule book concerning all disciplines and his/her conduct demonstrates exemplary, ethical judging.


CATEGORY 3
Judges Card The NASMA judge holds a current judges card with one registered breed association other than NASMA.

Judges Evaluation Forms The NASMA judge has judged within the past show year and any Judges Evaluation Forms sent in contain scores less than 5 in one or more of the applicable catergories . The comments made on the forms contain 1 or more negative feedback concerning the ethical conduct of the judge and/or valid concerns, with specific examples listed, where placing mules/donkeys in class when clear disqualifications was present.

CATEGORY 2
Judges Card The NASMA judge has held a judges card with at least one registered breed association other than NASMA, but is not standing in a current status with that assosciation.

Judges Evaluation Forms The NASMA judge has judged within the past show year and any Judges Evaluation Forms sent in contain scores less than 5 in two or more of the applicable catergories . The comments made on the forms contain 2 or more negative feedback concerning the ethical conduct of the judge and/or valid concerns, with specific examples listed, where placing mules/donkeys in class when clear disqualifications was present.

CATEGORY 1
Judges Card The NASMA judge does not hole a current judges card with at least one registered breed association other than NASMA.

Judges Evaluation Forms The NASMA judge has judged within the past show year and any Judges Evaluation Forms sent in contain scores less than 5 in 3 or more of the applicable catergories . The comments made on the forms contain 3 or more negative feedback concerning the ethical conduct of the judge and/or valid concerns, with specific examples listed, where placing mules/donkeys in class when clear disqualifications was present.

**To retain a current, valid NASMA card the judge being reviewed must score a cumulative score of 7. Anything scoring below a 7 requires action on behalf of the judges committee.

 
 

Justification and impact if rule is not changed

justification: This rubric (scoring guide) would allow the judges committee to adequately and fairly score all judges holding a NASMA card and judging shows throughout a given show year.


Impact: We currently have no system that actually scores a judge.  
 

Committee Comments

The Committee feels the Standard Operating Procedures as passed by the Board of Directords addresses these issues.
